EXEMPT
The purpose of this position is to oversee the activities relating to the certification process of the Council For Clinical Certification in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CFCC). The Associate Director, Certification Operations (a) oversees and guides the activities for the certification, both initially and during reinstatement, of individuals; (b) provides consultation and guidance to individuals who are engaged in the certification process and to other stakeholders; and (c) provides guidance and assistance to the CFCC during meetings by serving as recorder for meetings.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance to and have primary coaching responsibilities for certification staff as they engage in the processing of new and reinstatement applications and in the administration of the certification maintenance standards.
- Consult with applicants in the certification process regarding all aspects of certification services.
- Provide training to new staff in all aspects of the certification process and manage workflow of Case Managers.
- Assist the CFCC during meetings to include preparation of minutes, advising on standards issues, and composing certification decision letters upon Council review of files.
- Assist Director in preparation of annual budgets (including providing forecast data, projected training and educational needs of staff).
- Collaborate with the Associate Director, Certification Education and Communication in developing and maintaining a program of continuous quality improvement for the Certification Administration Team.
Qualifications
Knowledge typically acquired through:
- Award of a baccalaureate degree
- Minimum of 3 years experience with a certifying agency
- Experience in managing a standards and certification program
- Experience in communicating with higher education faculty and administration, members of professional associations, and students
Scope and depth of technical skills/knowledge
Demonstrated ability to:
- Collect, interpret, and report statistical data
- Analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources
- Prepare and make public presentations
- Independently compose communications, including sensitive correspondence
- Efficiently use Windows environment and Microsoft Office software, data bases, and presentation software to produce reports, documents, and presentations
Scope and depth of non-technical skills/knowledge:
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including preparation and presentation of reports, minutes, and correspondence
- Problem-solve independently and proactively about tasks related to job responsibilities
- Manage large projects and facilitate change
- Organize and prioritize multiple and complex projects and tasks; efficiently manage workload
- Supervise employees
