Plans are underway in 2008 to begin a practice analysis and curriculum study for speech-language pathology.
The Council for Clinical Certification (CFCC) and the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) are partnering with ASHA to develop this survey, last conducted in 1997. The results this study will inform the CAA and CFCC on academic and clinical standards for the profession of speech-language pathology, as well as the content and weighting of the national Praxis examination. One of the outcomes of the SLP analysis will be to ensure that the scope and level of education is consistent with the current scope of practice for the profession.
You may be included in the sample selected to complete this survey; if so please take advantage of this opportunity to participate in this study to further define the practice of speech-language pathology and contribute to the development of accreditation standards. More information will be forwarded via email and on the Web pages.
