• New Accreditation Standards Adopted, Implementation Date: January 1, 2008 
  After a comprehensive peer review period, the CAA adopted new Standards for Accreditation that went into effect January 1, 2008. All accredited and candidate programs are expected to be in compliance with the new Standards for Accreditation as of that date.
• Call for Public Comment on Graduate Education Programs

• HES and EDFIND Have Been Launched!
  The Higher Education Data System (HES) system is a collaborative effort of ASHA, CAPCSD, and CAA to facilitate comprehensive and consistent data collection and dissemination. Survey completion is critical to ensure all programs are reflected in reports and trends analysis in CSD. Program data and characteristics submitted via the HES will appear in EDFIND, the new online search engine for academic programs. EDFIND replaces ASHA's online Grad Guide and allows students and others to search for and learn about academic programs in CSD.

• CHEA and ED Recognition of CAA as an Accrediting Agency
• 2008 CAA Meetings: The CAA conducts a face-to-face meeting three times a year. It held its first meeting of the year February 27-March 1 and has scheduled its next meeting for July 9-12 in Rockville, Maryland. A meeting also will be held in conjunction with Committee Day at the ASHA Convention in Chicago, Illinois, on November 19.
