CAA's Candidacy Program

The Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) provides opportunity for new programs seeking accreditation status to particiapte in its candidacy, or pre-accreditation, program. Initiated in 1991 and last revised in 2007, the CAA's currrent "stepwise" candidacy model allows new programs to come into compliance with the Standards for Accreditation in a logical sequence while being closely monitored by the CAA.

New graduate education programs the discipline are encouraged to review the CAA's Candidacy Manual below. Inquiries should be directed to the Accreditation Office at accreditation@asha.org.
