Statement of Types of Evidence
Many presentations at ASHA's Annual Convention focus on treatment procedures. It is important that presenters and audience participants in each session be aware of the types of evidence available that support each technique being presented. Many associations consciously or unconsciously place more value on treatment procedures that have more published evidence in peer-reviewed journals to support their effectiveness. Presenters and audience participants alike should be aware of the amount of evidence available for each technique advocated.
Presenters should include information on the types of evidence and research design in the summary portion of their submission:
