Dr. Brian B. Shulman is Dean of the School of Graduate Medical Education at Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey, where he also holds the rank of Professor in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology. Dr. Shulman received his master's and doctoral degrees, both in speech-language pathology, from Bowling Green State University. His bachelor's degree in speech-language pathology is from State University of New York at Cortland. He is a Board Recognized Specialist in Child Language (BRS-CL) as conferred by ASHA's Specialty Board on Child Language. A Fellow of ASHA, Dr. Shulman has made numerous invited presentations to professional groups at international, national, state, and local levels and is the author of the Test of Pragmatic Skills–Revised. Dr. Shulman has served in leadership positions within ASHA as Chair of the Board of Division Coordinators (BDC) and was also a member of ASHA's Specialty Board on Child Language. He served as a member of ASHA's Council for Clinical Specialty Recognition and as co-chair of ASHA's 2001 and 2005 Annual Conventions. Dr. Shulman is the current ASHA Vice President for Speech-Language Pathology Practices. In this role, he identifies national issues, monitors the emergence of new areas of practice, addresses concerns of the work setting, and monitors and facilitates Association activities designed to promote all practice settings.
