The Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, U.S. Department of Education (ED), has extended its application deadlines for three competitions under the Personnel Development to Improve Services and Results for Children with Disabilities program, as follows:
- 84.325D – Preparation of Leadership Personnel: Application extension deadline September 29, 2008
- 84.325K – Combined Personnel Preparation: Application extension deadline October 10, 2008
- 84.325T – Special Education Preservice Program Improvement Grants: Application extension deadline September 26, 2008
The Personnel Development to Improve Services and Results for Children with Disabilities program was created to (1) help address State-identified needs for highly qualified personnel—in special education, related services, early intervention, and regular education—to work with infants, toddlers, and children with disabilities; and (2) ensure that those personnel have the necessary skills and knowledge, derived from practices that have been determined through scientifically based research and experience, to be successful in serving those children.
Deadlines for intergovernmental reviews of the competitions have also been extended. For further details please view the Federal Register notice or contact Catherine D.
