All speech-language pathologists (SLPs) who anticipate enrolling in Medicare as private practitioners must wait until June 2, 2009 to start the process.
If you attempt to enroll before June 2nd, you will have your enrollment denied with an explanation stating that speech-language pathologists in private practice are not part of the Medicare program.
