What is a podcast?

A podcast is a method of publishing files over the internet, allowing individuals to subscribe to a feed and receive new files automatically through an aggregator program, like iTunes, Juice, or Doppler.

Think of a podcast like a subscription. Once you join the podcast, each time you run iTunes or your particular aggregator, it will automatically check all of your subscriptions to see if any new content is available, and download it to your computer.

How do I subscribe to the podcast?

Joining our podcast is an easy 3 step process.

1. First, you need to install software that will automatically search our website and download the latest content available in the podcast. There are several free aggregator programs that can do this including iTunes, Juice, or Doppler. A list of other podcasting software can be found at Podcasting News.

2. Next, you'll subscribe to our podcast.

For iTunes users, you can subscribe to our podcast by searching for it in the iTunes store or you can click on the "add to iTunes" podcast link on the right side menu. If you can't find our podcast in the iTunes store or if you don't use iTunes, use the method below.

For other users, copy and paste this url into your podcasting tool:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/ASHAProfDev

How you do this will depend on the particular software, but each should have a button or link to "Add" or "Subscribe" to podcasts, where you can paste the feed address in.

3. The final step in the process is to enjoy the podcast content. When a new podcast episode becomes available, your software will automatically download it.
