Recruitment and Retention
"The Association continues to attract increasing numbers of professionals from under-represented populations, including males" —ASHA's Envisioned Future: 2025
Over the years, ASHA has engaged in many recruitment and retention projects with the goal of diversifying our membership. It continues to be a strategic objective as outlined in ASHA's Strategic Plan: Strategic Pathway to Excellence.
Recognizing that there are multiple dimensions to diversity, the following materials are a compilation of successful recruitment, retention, and career transition strategies for increasing the numbers of individuals from under-represented racial/ethnic minority backgrounds in graduate and professional programs.
Additionally, the Minority Faculty Search is a service available to recruit qualified faculty in communication sciences and disorders.
