This audio self-study provides practical guidelines for educators and clinicians in selecting goals to improve comprehension and use of nonverbal social cues for children and adolescents with Asperger’s syndrome. Goals such as utilizing conventional social conversational skills, determining the perspective of others, and collaborating and negotiating with peers are illustrated. Learning supports appropriate for the classroom environment and social skills groups are included in this discussion (e.g., written helper cards, friendship maps, feelings books, and video replay).
