Assessing the effectiveness of school-based personnel is a critical issue in the school community. To help, many states and school districts are implementing value added assessments (VAA) that use the results of students’ scores on high-stakes testing. This approach, however, may not accurately assess an SLP’s contributions. As a result, ASHA has developed an alternative for SLPs: the Performance Assessment of Contributions and Effectiveness of Speech-Language Pathologists (PACE).
You will be able to:
- define and describe value added assessments (VAA)
- describe the Performance Assessment of Contributions and Effectiveness of Speech-Language Pathologists (PACE) system
- develop a PACE portfolio
- implement three advocacy tools to encourage decision makers to adopt PACE
- use PACE to inform others of the SLP’s role
Group Registration Note: A group registration entitles you to one Web or telephone connection to this program. Any number of people may listen and earn ASHA CEUs on that connection. The person who will act as site leader for the broadcast should register on behalf of the group. After registering, the site leader will be able to download seminar instructions, handouts, and CEU materials. The site leader needs to have, or create, a login to the ASHA Web site.
