In this program, learn a procedure for implementing services to students with swallowing and feeding concerns while utilizing an interdisciplinary team comprised of school personnel, parents, and physicians. In addition, you’ll learn how to establish therapeutic plans for students with swallowing and feeding disorders that range from monitoring and consultation, to working with parents and physicians on transitioning to/from feeding tubes.
Learning Outcomes You will be able to:
- establish and implement a swallowing and feeding plan and procedure in the school setting
- define the types of students who may be at risk for swallowing and feeding disorders
- set up a consultative and collaborative program for ensuring safe swallowing and feeding
- identify therapeutic options for addressing different levels of intervention with students
