This program presents the selection and use of procedure codes that have captured the attention of Medicare and the American Medical Association and addresses commonly asked questions regarding procedural (CPT) and diagnostic (ICD) code selection. We will also discuss national trends in reimbursement and their potential impact on audiology, the updated HIPAA regulations, and an introduction to ICD-10-CM diagnostic code taxonomy. This presentation will conclude by discussing the various auditing mechanisms currently in use and methods of reducing the possibility of penalties if a practice is audited. This program is intended for audiologists who have billing or coding responsibilities, and administrators who oversee the finances of audiology services.
