Students who have difficulties with social learning and communication often have an affinity for technology. But how can clinicians use the iPad as a tool rather than just a toy? This webinar will discuss the features of apps that work well for social communication intervention, namely the use of video, audio, and visual support structures for interaction. The course will give exemplars and foster clinicians’ evaluation and selection of apps that support intervention activities such as play, use of socially relevant pictures and videos, and use of visual creation tools for video modeling, social narratives, scripts, and other visual supports.
