While
clinicians may know the fundamentals of evidence-based practice (EBP), many
struggle to implement EBP in real-world situations with their clients. Often,
this is due to limited research, a lack of high-quality research, or the
absence of a clear takeaway from external scientific literature. In this
course, participants will learn more about these obstacles and strategies to
overcome them. Learning how to navigate these barriers will assist clinicians
in making patient-centered and evidence-based clinical decisions.
This course
is the third in a series of micro courses on Evidence-Based Decision-Making,
which use clinical scenario activities to help you to sharpen your EBP
skills.

Information
Kelly
Jones, MA, CCC-SLP (she/her/hers) is a clinical research
associate for ASHA's National Center for Evidence-Based Practice in
Communication Disorders (N-CEP). Within N-CEP, Kelly contributes to a wide
range of resources designed to increase clinician access to and knowledge of
data, research, and evidence-based processes. It is her goal to assist
audiologists and speech-language pathologists in improving the quality and
effectiveness of their services while also demonstrating their value. Prior to
working at ASHA, Kelly worked in acute care and acute rehabilitation settings,
with a specific focus in traumatic brain injury, tumor, stroke, and
collaborative practice.
