Course Planner and Instructor Disclosure

  • ASHA CE Providers must ensure that the following information is disclosed to learners in promotional materials and at the start of the course:
    • Names—listing the names of all instructors, authors, and creators.
    • Changed Relevant relationships—listing the name of the organization and the type of relationship for each person listed. Alternatively, the ASHA CE Provider can list instructor, author, or creator name(s) and can affirm that no relevant relationships exist.
    • A speaker/instructor disclosure statement must be provided for each speaker.

Financial and In-Kind Support Disclosure

  • ASHA CE Providers must oversee all financial and in-kind support and make all decisions regarding the allocation and disbursement of funds received from other organizations.
  • ASHA CE Providers must keep—and be able to produce, upon request—an accurate record of the amount and type of support received and how it was used.

Transparency in Exhibits and Advertising

  • Learners must not be presented with or required to engage with promotional or sales activities during an education activity. Regardless of course format, learners must be able to engage with the education without having to click through, watch, listen to, or be presented with product promotion or product-specific advertisements.
